The Dassault Falcon 8X price is reported at about $63 million new and $50 million used (Private Jet Card Comparisons, read November 2026). Dassault lists a range of 6,450 nautical miles for the three-engine jet (dassaultfalcon.com, read November 2026), which makes it the longest-range Falcon before the 10X.
Dassault does not publish a price for the Falcon 8X, so every dollar figure here is reported, attributed and dated. Treat each as a working range, not a quote. This guide covers what the 8X costs new and used, the specs, why Dassault built it with three engines, the cabin, what it takes to run, and how it compares with the Gulfstream G650, the Bombardier Global 7500 and the Falcon 6X.
Falcon 8X Price
New: What Is Reported
Private Jet Card Comparisons lists a new price of $63 million for the Falcon 8X and gives a production window of 2016 to 2026 (read November 2026). Treat it as a reference, not an invoice: a long options list and an interior agreed with each buyer mean no two contracts match.
The more useful reading is that the 8X sits well below the largest Gulfstream and Bombardier jets. The same Private Jet Card Comparisons site lists $78 million new for the Gulfstream G650 and $81 million for the Bombardier Global 7500 (read November 2026), so a Falcon 8X costs less than either, with a smaller cabin to match.
Used: Reported and Modeled Values
Private Jet Card Comparisons lists a used price of $50 million (read November 2026). That is a single reference figure, not an appraisal, and with a production window running from 2016, the spread between an early airframe and a late one is wide.
Hours, engine program enrollment, damage history, avionics and the interior all move the price of one aircraft. For a real number, ask a broker for sold comparables rather than asking prices. Our how much is a private jet guide puts the 8X in the wider market.
Falcon 8X Specs
Dassault states range as a theoretical figure: 6,450 nautical miles with eight passengers and NBAA IFR reserves. After a short hop, the 8X can land at 85 percent of maximum takeoff weight, which Dassault says allows a leg of more than 4,600 nautical miles without refueling (dassaultfalcon.com, read November 2026). Winds, routing and payload decide each real trip.

Dassault also says the 8X is up to 15 percent more fuel-efficient than any other aircraft in the ultra-long-range segment (dassaultfalcon.com, read November 2026). That is a manufacturer claim, so ask for fuel burn on the specific aircraft you are looking at.
How the 8X Differs From the 7X
The 8X is a stretched Falcon 7X. Aviation Week reports that Dassault launched the program on May 19, 2014, that the first flight came on February 6, 2015, and that certification followed in June 2016 (Aviation Week, aircraft overview). The fuselage is 3.6 ft longer, and the cabin grows from 39.07 ft and 1,552 cubic feet on the 7X to 42.8 ft and 1,695 cubic feet on the 8X. Aviation Week puts the 7X range at 5,950 nautical miles, so the 8X adds roughly 500.
Flying reported on June 28, 2016 that EASA had certified the 8X with a range of 6,450 nautical miles, the greatest of any Falcon, and the longest cabin in the line. It also noted an 830-hour flight test program. For a buyer, the practical difference is a bit more room and noticeably more reach for a similar-looking jet. Dassault’s next step up is the Falcon 10X, which Dassault lists at 7,500 nautical miles with a 53.1 ft cabin (dassaultfalcon.com, read November 2026).
Three Engines and Short Runways
Why Dassault Uses Three Engines
Dassault’s 8X page gives three reasons for the trijet layout. A three-engine safety factor shortens transoceanic routes, so flights take less time. The configuration contributes to a slow, stable approach speed of 107 knots. And the performance margins allow takeoffs from shorter runways at faster climb rates (dassaultfalcon.com, read November 2026). These are Dassault’s stated reasons, not independent findings.
Three engines are not free. Each one needs maintenance and an overhaul program, and that is part of why an engine program matters when you price a used 8X.
Short Fields and Steep Approaches
Dassault describes “outstanding short-field performance” and says the 8X handles steep approach angles, strong climb-out gradients, and hot and high conditions. As an example, it says that from London City’s 3,934 ft runway the 8X can fly nonstop to Mumbai or Chicago (dassaultfalcon.com, read November 2026). Those are manufacturer figures at stated conditions, and a real departure depends on weight, temperature and the airport’s own rules.
The runway numbers are why the 8X is often compared with jets that cannot use the smallest airports. For routes out of London, see our longest range private jets ranking.
Cabin and Layouts
Dassault lists a cabin 42.7 ft long, 92 in wide and 74 in high, with 1,695 cubic feet of volume and 140 cubic feet of baggage space (dassaultfalcon.com, read November 2026). It seats 12 to 16 passengers. On layouts, Dassault describes:
- a three-lounge configuration with an aft shower;
- a standard entryway with more lounge space;
- a larger entryway with either lie-flat crew quarters or a large galley, for longer trips;
- an optional Privacy Suite, with an adjustable divider and berthable seats, that lets two people talk privately or one person sleep.
The final arrangement is agreed with the buyer before delivery, so a used 8X can differ a lot from the next one on the ramp. Ask for the specification sheet of the exact aircraft, especially the galley, the shower and the sleeping options. Our private jet interior guide explains the zones to look for.
Running and Charter Cost
Charter per Hour
Most readers will fly an 8X as a charter passenger. Quotes are set trip by trip, and taxes, de-icing, landing and handling fees and positioning flights come on top of the hourly rate, so ask for every fee itemized. Our private jet charter cost guide explains how large-cabin rates are built.

Owning One
Dassault does not publish operating costs for the 8X. Crew, hangar, insurance, fuel and maintenance programs for three engines make up the budget, so a specialist should price a specific aircraft before you commit. Our cost of owning a private jet guide explains each line.
Falcon 8X vs Rivals
Falcon 8X vs Gulfstream G650
“Is Falcon better than Gulfstream?” is not a question with one answer. The 8X costs less new on the reported figures and lands at a slower, steadier speed with a trijet’s short-field margin. The G650 is the larger, faster, longer-range jet. Which suits you depends on your typical trip and the airports you use. Our Gulfstream G650 price guide has the detail.
Falcon 8X vs Global 7500 and Falcon 6X
The Global 7500 is the bigger cabin with more zones and a longer range, at a higher price. The Falcon 6X is the newer twin-engine Dassault with a wider cabin and a shorter range. See our Bombardier Global 7500 price and Dassault Falcon 6X price guides.

The 8X is the narrower cabin and the lower price of the three flagships. Bombardier gives the Global 7500 a baseline range of 7,700 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.925 (Bombardier release via Aviation Pros, November 21, 2024).
Verdict: the Falcon 8X suits a buyer who wants true intercontinental range, a trijet’s short-runway ability and a lower price than the Gulfstream and Bombardier flagships. Choose a G650 or Global 7500 if cabin volume matters most.
