The Bombardier Challenger 650 price is reported at $32 million for a new aircraft by Private Jet Card Comparisons (read November 2026), while a used one runs from roughly $10 million to the low $30 millions depending on the source and the build year. Bombardier lists the Challenger 650 at 4,000 nautical miles of range with up to 12 passengers (bombardier.com, 2026).

Bombardier does not publish a price for the Challenger 650, so every dollar figure here is reported, attributed and dated. Treat each as a working range, not a quote. This guide covers what the money buys, how the cabin is laid out, what it costs to run or charter, and how the Challenger 650 compares with the Challenger 3500, the Falcon 2000LXS and the Gulfstream G500.

Challenger 650 Price

New: What the Jet Is Listed At

Private Jet Card Comparisons gives a new price of $32 million for the Bombardier Challenger 650 (read November 2026), and lists production as ongoing since 2015. Bombardier itself shows no price, and options, avionics choices and the interior you specify all move the final figure.

Is it still being built? Bombardier still lists it in its lineup (bombardier.com, 2026) and describes it as its best-selling large aircraft platform, with over 1,000 deliveries and counting. The jet itself dates to late 2015, when Transport Canada certified it and Bombardier said customer deliveries would begin before the end of that year (Aviation Week, November 27, 2015).

For every Bombardier model side by side, including the short Challenger 650 entry there, see our Bombardier private jet price list.

Used: Modeled Values and Listings

Used pricing is a spread, and each figure below is an attributed snapshot, not an appraisal.

  • Private Jet Card Comparisons gives about $10 million for a used Challenger 650 (read November 2026).
  • Flycraft, a charter company that also publishes a value model, shows a listing-based range of $17 million to $34 million with a middle estimate of $18 million (figures as of October 2026). It describes these as rough estimates from public listings and market reports, not appraisals, and its range spans build years from 2000, which reach back before the 650 name existed.

Why is the range so wide? Build year, hours, engine program enrollment, damage history, interior condition and logbook completeness all change the price of one aircraft. When you search for a Challenger 650 for sale, check that each listing is a 650 built from 2015 on. For a real figure, ask a broker for sold comparables rather than asking prices.

Challenger 650 Specs

Bombardier markets the Challenger 650 as a large-cabin jet with a cabin billed as the widest in its class (bombardier.com, 2026), powered by two GE CF34-3B engines.

Range in Practice

Bombardier states range as a theoretical figure, so winds, routing, passengers and payload decide each trip (bombardier.com, 2026). Some listing sites show lower numbers, such as 3,756 nautical miles at Private Jet Card Comparisons, so use Bombardier’s 4,000 as the ceiling and ask a charter provider for the real figure on a given route. Mercury Jets, a charter broker, puts a nonstop at about 8 hours 45 minutes at the maximum (page modified August 2023).

If range is what you are shopping for, see our longest range private jets comparison. For a jet that crosses oceans, the Bombardier Global 7500 price guide covers the top of the line.

Cabin and Seat Map

Widest in the Class, With Caveats

Seven feet eleven inches of width and six feet of headroom is roomy for a jet this size, but it is not a stand-up cabin. Bombardier describes the width as the widest in the class (bombardier.com, 2026). Mercury Jets lists slightly different dimensions of 25.58 ft long and 7.92 ft wide, which shows how brokers round the same cabin (page modified August 2023). The Bombardier figures above are the ones to rely on.

How the Seats Are Laid Out

The maximum is 12 passengers, and Flycraft notes that many cabins seat fewer (figures as of October 2026). One published layout comes from Elevate Jet, which added two Challenger 650s to its managed fleet in June 2025 (Private Jet Card Comparisons, June 5, 2025). It describes a two-zone cabin:

  • Four executive club seats with fold-out tables.
  • A divan with a berth for sleeping.
  • A four-place conference group across from the divan.
  • A forward galley and a standard lavatory at the aft end.

That is a fairly typical business layout, and it seats 12 on paper. A seat map matters because the divan and the conference table are what turn 12 seats into 8 comfortable ones on a long leg. Mercury Jets describes the same pattern of a four-person conference table, divans and convertible full beds (page modified August 2023). Because owners customize interiors, ask for the seating plan of the exact tail before you book or buy. For other sleeping layouts, see our guide to the best mid-size private jets.

Running and Charter Cost

Charter per Hour

Most readers will fly a Challenger 650 as a charter passenger, and the published rates are a wide spread. Flycraft, a charter company, gives published rates for a large jet of $14,500 to $16,500 an hour (page updated October 5, 2026). Mercury Jets puts the average at around $9,500 an hour (page modified August 2023). The gap comes from the date, the broker model and what is included, so these are estimates, not quotes. Taxes, de-icing, landing and handling fees and positioning flights come on top. For the wider picture, read our private jet charter cost guide.

Owning One

Flycraft estimates variable cost at $6,395 per flight hour, of which $2,520 is fuel at $7.66 a gallon (October 4, 2026), plus $1,084,067 a year in fixed costs regardless of hours flown. At 200 hours a year that totals $2,363,067, or $11,815 an hour. At 100 hours it rises to $17,236 an hour, and at 400 hours it falls to $9,105 (Flycraft, October 2026). Treat these as modeled examples, not a budget. A specialist should price a specific aircraft before you commit.

Challenger 650 vs Rivals

The Challenger 650 sits in the large-cabin tier with a lower price than the Gulfstream G500 and a longer legs-and-cabin package than the Challenger 3500. The Falcon 2000LXS is the closest rival on range.

Cabin lengths are measured differently by each maker. Bombardier and Dassault give the length excluding the baggage compartment, and Gulfstream lists 41 ft 6 in excluding baggage, with 47 ft 7 in as the total interior length (gulfstream.com, 2026).

Challenger 650 vs Challenger 3500

The Challenger 3500 is the smaller sibling: 3,400 nautical miles, 7 ft 2 in wide, and up to 10 passengers (bombardier.com, 2026). Private Jet Card Comparisons lists it at $27 million new (read November 2026). It uses Honeywell HTF7350 engines where the 650 uses GE CF34s. The 650 gives you about 600 nautical miles more range and nine more inches of width for a $5 million higher list price.

Challenger 650 vs Falcon 2000LXS and G500

Dassault lists the Falcon 2000LXS at 4,000 nautical miles with 92 inches of width and 74 inches of height, for 8 to 10 passengers (dassaultfalcon.com, 2026). That is the same range as the Challenger 650 in a slightly narrower cabin that is a little taller.

The Gulfstream G500 is a different class. Gulfstream lists 5,300 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, up to 19 seats and up to three living areas (gulfstream.com, 2026), and Private Jet Card Comparisons shows $45 million new (read November 2026). If you want to step up, read our Gulfstream G500 price guide.

If you only need a seat, charter is the simpler route, and the hourly rates above show why a Challenger 650 trip is a different budget from a jet card hour.

Questions Buyers Ask

How much does a Bombardier Challenger 650 cost?
Private Jet Card Comparisons reports a list price of $32 million for a new Challenger 650 (read November 2026). Bombardier publishes no price, so options, interior and delivery slot decide what a buyer pays. A used aircraft is much lower, depending on build year.
What is a used Challenger 650 price?
Private Jet Card Comparisons gives about $10 million (read November 2026), while Flycraft shows a listing-based range of $17 million to $34 million across 2000 to 2026 build years, with a middle estimate of $18 million (October 2026). Hours and engine programs move each price.
What is the range of the Challenger 650?
Bombardier lists 4,000 nautical miles, a theoretical figure with six passengers, two crew and NBAA IFR reserves. Everyday range depends on winds, routing and payload, so plan trips with a charter provider's own figures.
How many seats does a Challenger 650 have?
Bombardier lists up to 12 passengers. Many cabins seat fewer, since a divan and a conference table take space (Flycraft, October 2026). One layout published in 2025 has four club seats, a divan and a four-place conference group.
Is the Challenger 650 still in production?
Bombardier still lists the Challenger 650 in its lineup and cites over 1,000 deliveries and counting (bombardier.com, 2026). Private Jet Card Comparisons lists production as ongoing since 2015. For a delivery slot on a new aircraft, the answer comes from Bombardier sales.
