Celebrity Private Jets, Checked Against the FAA Registry

Which celebrities really own private jets? Every claim checked against the FAA registry and named reporting, with rumors labeled as rumors.

47 guides

Celebrity private jets are easy to find online and hard to prove. A tail number is a public record, but the owner on that record is usually a company or a trustee, not the star. So on this page every entry carries one of three labels: owned on record, reported, or not confirmed, and every registry check was run on November 6, 2026.

The aircraft that show up most are large Gulfstreams and Bombardier Globals, plus one Boeing airliner. If you want to see what those cabins cost, our guides to the Gulfstream G700 price and the Gulfstream G650 price have the numbers.

Celebrity Private Jets at a Glance

On the Record

These aircraft are registered with the FAA to the owner shown. Read the “Registered to” column carefully: the registrant is a company or trustee, and where the press links it to a person, the guide says who reported it. Registry data is from the FAA Civil Aircraft Registry, read on November 6, 2026. Registration numbers are in each guide, not in this table.

Two notes on that table. The two Living Word Christian Center entries are different churches in different states, so do not mix them up. And the Bezos entry shows the registry’s aircraft and model; read the guide for what is and is not tied to him.

Reported, Not on a US Record

Some famous jets cannot be matched to a US registration, because the owner is outside the FAA system, or no outlet has named a tail number. These come from named press reports.

No Jet We Could Confirm

For these names, our FAA searches found no aircraft, or the reporting points somewhere else. That is not proof of absence, only of what we could confirm.

The Jets Celebrities Choose

The registry table above shows a pattern. Almost every entry is a large-cabin, long-range jet, and the same few manufacturers supply it.

Gulfstream G650 and G700

Gulfstream dominates the table. The registry lists a G650ER type for Musk and Kardashian, and a G700 type for the Bezos tail. The G700 is the maker’s largest cabin, with a maximum range of 7,750 nautical miles per Gulfstream, and the price it was reported at is covered on our Gulfstream G700 price page. Its predecessor has its own G650 price guide.

Bombardier Global

The Global 7500 type shows up on the Kylie Jenner registration, and Tyler Perry is reported to have taken delivery of one. Bombardier’s whole line, with prices where reported, is on the Bombardier price list. For distance, compare it with the longest range private jets.

Boeing and Airbus Bizliners

An airliner converted to a private cabin is a different category. Drake’s Boeing 767 is the clearest case on the registry, and Travis Scott’s Embraer Lineage 1000 is built on a regional airliner. See where they sit among the biggest private jets in the world.

How a Private Jet Tracker Works

People search for a private jet tracker to follow a celebrity, but the technology is built for air traffic, not for fans. Here is what actually happens.

ADS-B Out and the FAA Registry

An aircraft in most controlled US airspace must broadcast its position with ADS-B Out. Under 14 CFR 91.225, that applies in Class A airspace, in Class B and C airspace and, from January 1, 2020, in the other areas the rule lists. The signal includes a code tied to the aircraft. Anyone can look up the registration behind a tail number on the FAA registry at registry.faa.gov and see the registered owner, which is how the company names in the table above surface.

Public Trackers

FlightAware’s about page says its data comes from its own network of ADS-B ground stations in 195 countries, air traffic control feeds from more than 45 countries, and space-based and satellite sources. We did not open the about pages of Flightradar24 or ADS-B Exchange, so we do not describe how they filter aircraft.

What Trackers Show and What They Do Not

A tracker shows a flight, not a passenger. A jet’s movement says nothing about who was on board, since an aircraft owned by a company can carry any employee, guest or charter customer. That gap is why celebrity tracking so often points at the wrong person.

We never publish live or recent positions, flight histories or home airports of a person.

Why Some Jets Disappear From Trackers

FAA LADD

The FAA runs the Limiting Aircraft Data Displayed program, called LADD, which lets owners ask that their aircraft data be blocked from the data the FAA shares with third parties. It does not change what the aircraft broadcasts, according to NBAA’s ADS-B privacy FAQ, so third-party receivers can still capture the signal directly.

Privacy ICAO Address (PIA)

The Privacy ICAO Address program was built to fill that gap. PIA gives an aircraft an alternate, temporary ICAO aircraft address that is not tied to a named operator in the registry, and ADS-B Out broadcasts it instead of the permanent address, per NBAA’s ADS-B privacy FAQ. It is limited to US domestic operations, and aircraft with UAT ADS-B avionics do not qualify. NBAA advises operators to use both programs for maximum privacy. We could not open the FAA’s own page, so check it for current request rules.

The Celebrity Tracking Controversy

The dispute is well documented. CNBC reported that @ElonJet, run by student Jack Sweeney, was suspended on Twitter on December 14, 2022. Both that case and the tracking of Taylor Swift’s aircraft are covered in the guides to Elon Musk’s private jet and Taylor Swift’s private jet.

The Rock’s Private Jet

We could not confirm a registration for Dwayne Johnson. FAA name searches for “JOHNSON DWAYNE” and for his production company, “SEVEN BUCKS,” returned no aircraft on November 6, 2026. Owners usually register through LLCs and trusts, so this does not prove he has never owned one. It means nobody has published a tail number we could check.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which celebrities own private jets?
On the FAA record, the aircraft registered to companies the press ties to celebrities include those for Elon Musk, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Drake and Travis Scott. The registrant is almost always an LLC or trustee, so the table above labels each as owned on record, reported or not confirmed.
How do you track a celebrity's private jet?
You look up the tail number on the FAA registry, then follow the aircraft on a public tracker such as FlightAware or Flightradar24. A jet that opts into the FAA's privacy programs may not appear, and a tracker shows the aircraft, never who is on board.
Does The Rock have a private jet?
We could not confirm one. FAA name searches for Dwayne Johnson and his company Seven Bucks returned no aircraft on November 6, 2026. Owners often register through LLCs and trusts, so that is not proof he has never owned a jet.
Why are celebrity jets registered to LLCs?
The registry lists whoever holds legal title, and owners often choose a company or trust for liability, tax or privacy reasons. That is why a registry search for a star's name often comes up empty even when the press links a jet to them.
