Tom Brady Private Jet: The Gulfstream Claim and the Tail Number That Is Michael Jordan's

Does Tom Brady own a private jet? A Gulfstream G550 is reported but unconfirmed, and the N236MJ tail number on many lists is Michael Jordan's G650ER.

Tom Brady private jet searches come down to two questions: which aircraft he flies, and what its tail number is. The honest answer to the first is a Gulfstream G550 that is often attributed to him. The honest answer to the second is that we could not find one.

The tail number that circulates most, N236MJ, is not his at all. We checked it in the FAA registry: it is a Gulfstream G650ER registered to MJ Air LLC, which Aerocorner identifies as Michael Jordan’s.

The short answer

Reported, not confirmed. Aerocorner reports that Tom Brady regularly flies a Gulfstream G550 and says whether he owns it is unconfirmed. No registration for that aircraft has been made public, and the tail number N236MJ often pinned on him is registered to MJ Air LLC.

Does Tom Brady have a private jet?

Brady is a retired quarterback and a Fox Sports analyst, so he travels constantly, and a private aircraft would fit the schedule. That is an assumption, not a finding. What we can say comes from one named outlet.

What the reporting says

Aerocorner’s roundup of NFL players and their jets states that Brady regularly flies a Gulfstream G550, estimated at around $20 million, and that whether he owns it is unconfirmed. The same piece says no registration or owning company for that aircraft has been made public.

What we found in the registry

We searched the FAA aircraft registry for the name “Brady Thomas.” It returned one piston-engine Beech owned by a person with a similar name. A name match alone is not evidence of anything, so we are not treating it as a lead.

The tail number mix-up, explained

Some lists attach the tail number N236MJ to Tom Brady. Aerocorner says that registration belongs to Michael Jordan’s Gulfstream G650ER, held by MJ Air LLC, and has nothing to do with Brady.

The FAA registry agrees with that description of the aircraft. On November 6, 2026, the entry for N236MJ showed a Gulfstream G650ER built in 2024, serial number 6579, with a valid registration. The registered owner is MJ Air LLC in Washington, DC, with a certificate issue date of October 1, 2024.

Why the error spreads

A wrong tail number is easy to copy and hard to retire. One list publishes it, a second list repeats it, and soon a search engine treats it as settled. The same thing happens with aircraft types: a model reported as “flown by” a star turns into “owned by” a few copies later, with no record behind it.

How to check any tail number yourself

Search the number in the FAA registry and read three fields: the aircraft make and model, the registered owner and the certificate date. If the model does not match the claim, the claim is wrong. In this case a G650ER does not match a G550, and an owner called MJ Air LLC does not match a quarterback.

The Gulfstream G550 in plain terms

The G550 is a large-cabin, long-range jet from Gulfstream, built to cross oceans without a fuel stop. It sits in the class of aircraft that serious business travelers and wealthy owners use for transcontinental and international trips. For a ranking of the jets that fly farthest, see our guide to the longest range private jets.

G550 or G650: which is newer

The G650 family is the later and larger design. If you want to see what the step up looks like, our Gulfstream G650 price guide lays it out. That is also the jet class N236MJ belongs to, which is a quick way to see why it cannot be the same aircraft as a G550.

Price in context

Aerocorner puts the G550 Brady is said to fly at around $20 million. That is an estimate from one outlet about an aircraft whose ownership is unconfirmed, so treat it as a ballpark for the type rather than a receipt.

What a G550 charter costs

You do not need to own a jet to fly one like it. Large-cabin jets of this class are available on charter, and the price depends on the route, the date and how empty the aircraft would otherwise be. We keep a current breakdown in our private jet charter cost guide.

How we checked

On November 6, 2026 we searched the FAA aircraft registry by N-number for N236MJ and by owner name for “Brady Thomas.” We read the model, serial number, owner and certificate date directly from the registry pages. We then compared the result with the one press report that discusses Brady’s jet.

Registry searches have limits. Aircraft held through LLCs, trusts or other entities will not show a famous name, so we report what the record shows and what a named outlet has said, and we leave the gap open where neither answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tom Brady's private jet tail number?
We could not find one. No registration has been made public for the Gulfstream G550 attributed to him. The number N236MJ that appears on some lists is registered to MJ Air LLC and is a Gulfstream G650ER tied to Michael Jordan, per aerocorner and the FAA registry.
Does Tom Brady own a jet?
It is unconfirmed. Aerocorner reports that he regularly flies a Gulfstream G550 and says ownership has not been established. We found no aircraft in the FAA registry that we can link to him, though aircraft are often held through LLCs, so that does not settle it.
Does Tom Brady fly private?
According to aerocorner, he regularly flies a Gulfstream G550. Whether it is his, borrowed or chartered has not been confirmed publicly, so the safe reading is that he reportedly flies private on a large-cabin jet without a proven owner.
