The Gulfstream G500 price is reported at $45 million for a new aircraft by Private Jet Card Comparisons (read November 2026), up from the $43.5 million Gulfstream announced at launch in 2014. A used G500 costs well below that: the same source says used examples start at $28 million. Gulfstream lists a range of 5,300 nautical miles (gulfstream.com, 2026).

Gulfstream does not publish prices for the G500, so every dollar figure here is reported, attributed and dated. Treat each as a working range, not a quote. This guide covers what the money buys, how the G500 compares with the G600 and G550, and what it costs to fly. The G500 discussed here is the all-new jet certified in 2018, not any earlier Gulfstream with a similar name.

Gulfstream G500 Price

New: What the Jet Costs Today

Three numbers matter, and they come from different years. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported in October 2014 that the G500 “will start at $43.5 million” when Gulfstream unveiled it, with deliveries expected in 2018. Private Jet Card Comparisons gives a list price of $45 million for a new G500 and lists the jet as still in production (read November 2026). The broker Air Charter Advisors shows an MSRP of $46,500,000 on its 2026 G500 page.

Gulfstream’s own G500 page lists no price and asks buyers to make contact (gulfstream.com, 2026). A fair reading is about $45 million for a base aircraft, before the interior, avionics options and delivery slot you actually specify.

The G500 entered the market quickly. Gulfstream received both the FAA type certificate and the production certificate on July 20, 2018, according to Aviation Week, and the first all-new G500 was delivered to a North American customer at Savannah in a report dated September 28, 2018. Aviation Week also reported more than 5,000 flight hours for development and certification.

Used: Asking Prices by Source

The used market gives a spread, not a single price. Each figure below is an attributed snapshot, not an appraisal.

  • Private Jet Card Comparisons says used G500s start at $28 million (read November 2026).
  • The listing site Flycraft put the low end of its estimates at about $35 million, from the 11 G500s it tracked as of October 2026. Flycraft calls these rough estimates drawn from public listings and market reports, not appraisals, and says build year sets the baseline.

Context matters more than any single number. Aviation International News reported on April 2, 2026, citing Hagerty Jet Group, that “available preowned inventory is low to nonexistent” and that pricing has firmed. Hagerty said buyers should not expect “any serious discounts in the business jet markets just yet.” That report did not give G500 figures, so it describes the market mood, not the G500 price.

What moves a used G500 price: year of manufacture, total airframe and engine hours, engine program enrollment, damage history, avionics and logbook completeness. For a real number, ask a broker for sold comparables, not asking prices.

Gulfstream G500 Specs

The G500 is the entry point to Gulfstream’s large-cabin line, sitting below the G600 and the G650 family. If you want the wider market first, start with how much a private jet costs.

Range and Speed

Gulfstream’s 5,300 nautical miles is an NBAA IFR theoretical range at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers and three crew. At Mach 0.90 the figure drops to 4,500 nautical miles. Winds, routing and payload decide each trip, so read ranges from the manufacturer rather than from charter listings. For longer reach, see our longest range private jets comparison.

The Cabin and Flight Deck

The cabin is 41 ft 6 in long, 7 ft 7 in wide and 6 ft 2 in high, excluding baggage, per Gulfstream. Total interior length, including the baggage compartment, is 47 ft 7 in. Air Charter Advisors puts the cabin volume at 1,715 cubic feet. Up to three living areas can be specified, usually a conference or dining zone, a lounge, and a private area at the rear.

Seat counts depend on the layout. Gulfstream lists up to 19 seats and sleeping for up to 8. Air Charter Advisors cites 13 to 19 seats on its specification line, with a typical layout nearer 12 to 16. The reality is that owners choose fewer seats for more space.

Two Pratt & Whitney PW814GA engines power the jet, each rated at 15,144 pounds of takeoff thrust (gulfstream.com, 2026). Gulfstream also says the G500 is FAA and EASA certified for steep approach, which matters for airports with difficult terrain.

Running and Charter Cost

Charter per Hour

Most readers will fly a G500 as a charter passenger. The broker Air Charter Advisors estimates $11,500 to $14,500 an hour, from 2026 market data, and says charter “starts around $10,500 an hour” in its introduction. The estimate excludes taxes, de-icing, landing and handling fees, special event fees, international surcharges, overnight crew expenses and premium catering. Positioning flights and fuel prices move the final bill. It is broker marketing, not a quote.

Owning a G500

Gulfstream does not publish an annual operating budget for the G500. Fixed costs such as crew, hangar, insurance and scheduled maintenance arrive whether the jet flies or not, and depreciation and financing sit on top. Our breakdown of how those add up is in the cost of owning a private jet. Anyone weighing a purchase should have a specialist price a specific aircraft and configuration.

G500 vs G600 vs G550

The G500 is the smallest of the three in cabin length, yet it is the newest design alongside the G600. The G550 is an older, longer-legged jet that now trades as a used purchase. Bombardier’s Global 6500 is the usual rival from another builder.

Gulfstream announced the G500 and G600 together in 2014, at $43.5 million and $54.5 million (Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 2014). The G550 is an older design, introduced in 2003 according to Air Charter Advisors; for what one costs today, read our Gulfstream G550 price guide. Bombardier does not publish a price for the Global 6500.

Verdict: the G500 trades about 1,300 nautical miles of range and 3 ft 8 in of cabin against the G600 for a lower buying price and charter rate. Choose the G500 if most of your flying is under 10 hours. Choose the G600 or G550 if you regularly fly Asia or long Atlantic and Pacific legs without a stop. The Global 6500 has the widest cabin of the four. If you are stepping up in size, compare the Gulfstream G650 price and the Gulfstream G700 price. If you are stepping down to a super-midsize, see the Gulfstream G280 price.
