The best luxury hotels in Atlanta are The St. Regis Atlanta, the only Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel on the city’s 2026 list, and Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead, its only Four-Star. The St. Regis also holds a MICHELIN Key, one of six Atlanta hotels with a Key as of September 2026.

Atlanta has no Two-Key hotel, and several of its newest towers are still waiting for a Forbes rating. This ranking therefore weighs the stars, the Keys and what each house actually has. Hotels here rarely publish nightly rates, so the cost section uses only what a dated page shows.

How We Picked

We combined three things: Forbes Travel Guide’s Atlanta destination page and hotel pages carrying the 2026 Star Awards banner, the MICHELIN Guide’s full 2026 US Key selection of September 18, 2026 and its first Atlanta Keys article of 2024, and a spread across the neighborhoods where visitors stay.

Room counts and amenities come from Forbes hotel pages or the hotels’ own sites. Where a page gives no count, we leave it out. We take no paid placement.

Stars vs Keys: Two Different Judges

Forbes inspectors rate service as much as the building, so a new hotel can have a polished lobby and still show “Soon to Be Rated” until inspectors visit. That is the status of three of our picks on Forbes’ Atlanta page: The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, Epicurean Atlanta and FORTH Atlanta.

MICHELIN’s Keys judge the whole stay and often favor character. Its first Georgia selection, announced September 12, 2024, gave One Key to three Atlanta hotels: The Candler Hotel Atlanta, Hotel Clermont and Stonehurst Place (guide.michelin.com, October 2024). On October 15, 2025, the guide named seven Georgia hotels with a Key, three of them in Atlanta: Hotel Clermont, FORTH Hotel and Stonehurst Place, per Atlanta News First. The 2026 selection (MICHELIN Guide, September 18, 2026) lists six Atlanta hotels, all at One Key: Nobu Hotel Atlanta, The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta, The St. Regis Atlanta, Forth Hotel Atlanta, Hotel Clermont and Stonehurst Place. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Nobu, the Ritz-Carlton and the St. Regis as the new Atlanta names that year (September 19, 2026).

The Best Luxury Hotels in Atlanta

The St. Regis Atlanta

Forbes Five-Star for 2026 and a MICHELIN One Key (2026). It has 151 guest rooms plus 53 residences in a 26-floor building at 88 West Paces Ferry Road in Buckhead, per Forbes Travel Guide. Butler service includes unpacking and packing, garment pressing and in-room coffee and tea. The hotel lists a 40,000 square foot Pool Piazza and the 9,800 square foot Remède Spa with 10 treatment rooms. Forbes also rates its restaurant Atlas Buckhead Five-Star.

Waldorf Astoria Atlanta Buckhead

Forbes Four-Star for 2026. It sits at 3376 Peachtree Road in Buckhead, per Forbes, which does not give a room total but notes a One Bedroom Suite of more than 1,000 square feet with two terraces over Peachtree Road. The Waldorf Astoria Spa spans three floors with 13 treatment rooms, vitality pools and steam rooms. Brassica, a French brasserie with Southern influences, is the main restaurant, and there is a private English garden courtyard.

The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta

MICHELIN One Key (2026). Forbes lists it as “Soon to Be Rated,” meaning editors have previewed it and inspectors have not yet rated it. It has 444 rooms in a 25-story building at 181 Peachtree Street NE downtown, per Forbes. AG, a steakhouse on the second floor, and the Lumen lounge are on site. Forbes puts the airport 14 to 22 minutes away.

Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta

Forbes Recommended for 2026, and a MICHELIN Guide hotel without a Key, marked new on MICHELIN’s Atlanta list. It has 244 rooms and suites on the first 19 floors of a 50-story high-rise at 75 14th Street in Midtown, per Forbes. It has an indoor lap pool with a semi-circular whirlpool, a 10-treatment-room spa, Park 75 for breakfast and Bar Margot with chef Ford Fry for lunch and dinner.

Nobu Hotel Atlanta

MICHELIN One Key (2026). Nobu’s own site places it in Buckhead and lists 11 room and suite types plus a Nobu Villa, among them a Porsche King Room and a Porsche Icon Suite. It has a rooftop saltwater pool and a Nobu restaurant and bar. It does not appear on Forbes Travel Guide’s Atlanta page.

Epicurean Atlanta, Autograph Collection

Forbes: Soon to Be Rated. It has 178 rooms, 22 of them suites, at 1117 West Peachtree Street in Midtown, per Forbes. The ninth-floor sky terrace has an outdoor pool and three cabanas, and the signature restaurant is Reverence. MICHELIN lists it among its newly added Atlanta hotels.

FORTH Atlanta

MICHELIN One Key (2025 and 2026). Forbes: Soon to Be Rated. It has 196 units, from a 260 square foot King to two-bedroom suites above 850 square feet, at 800 Rankin Street NE in Old Fourth Ward, per Forbes. The 20,000 square foot fitness center is its largest space, and Il Premio is a modern Italian steakhouse. It is the most nightlife-minded hotel here, with a rooftop lounge called Moonlight.

Hotel Clermont

MICHELIN One Key (2024, 2025 and 2026). It has 93 rooms at 789 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE, per the hotel. MICHELIN describes a 1920s-inspired Art Deco and mid-century look, a rooftop bar with wide views and the Clermont Lounge nightlife venue in the basement. It is the boutique pick with the most personality.

Stonehurst Place

MICHELIN One Key (2024, 2025 and 2026). MICHELIN describes six rooms and suites in a 19th-century mansion in Midtown, with restored period woodwork and oversized bathrooms. It is a bed and breakfast on Piedmont Avenue, per Atlanta News First, and the smallest house on this list.

InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta

Forbes Recommended for 2026. It is at 3315 Peachtree Road in Buckhead, and Forbes puts DeKalb-Peachtree 9 to 16 minutes away. The Americano, from chef Scott Conant, serves Italian-American dishes, and Forbes notes the spa was rebranded during the 2022 renovation.

Loews Atlanta Hotel

Forbes Recommended for 2026. It has 414 rooms, 44 of them suites, at 1065 Peachtree Street NE, per Forbes. The Exhale spa and the Loews Loves Families program, with kids’ menus and cribs, make it the practical choice for families in Midtown.

Downtown

Old Fourth Ward and the BeltLine

FORTH Atlanta is on Rankin Street in Old Fourth Ward, per Forbes. Hotel Clermont is on Ponce de Leon Avenue, per the hotel. Both fit guests who want nightlife and a younger crowd over a formal lobby.

The St. Regis offers butler service and a 9,800 square foot spa, per Forbes. The Waldorf Astoria Spa has 13 treatment rooms across three floors. Those two are the strongest 5 star hotels in Atlanta for a service-led stay: the St. Regis is the Five-Star, the Waldorf the Four-Star.

DeKalb-Peachtree (PDK) is 8 miles northeast of Atlanta, per FAA data via AirNav, with a 6,001 foot main runway and a control tower. Forbes puts the InterContinental Buckhead 9 to 16 minutes from PDK.

Fulton County Airport, Charlie Brown Field (FTY), is 6 miles west, with a 5,797 foot runway, and AirNav lists Hill Aircraft & Leasing and Signature Aviation as FBOs.
