The best luxury hotels in Dallas by outside recognition are The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, the only Forbes Five-Star hotel on the city’s 2026 page, and four MICHELIN One Key houses: Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Hotel Swexan, Hotel ZaZa Dallas and Casa Duro. The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas, in Irving, also holds One Key in the 2026 selection. No Dallas hotel holds Two Keys, and the nearest that does, Bowie House, is in Fort Worth.

Anyone searching for luxury hotels in Dallas will find a city with more than 35,000 hotel rooms, per Visit Dallas (2026), but only a small group carries a top rating from Forbes or MICHELIN. This guide ranks that group, adds the large downtown houses still waiting for a Forbes verdict, and says plainly where a hotel does not publish its rates.

How We Picked

We started from two award bodies. The first is the MICHELIN Guide’s full 2026 US Key selection, published September 18, 2026, which lists every Key hotel in Texas. The second is Forbes Travel Guide’s Dallas destination page and the hotel pages beneath it, which show the 2026 Star Awards banner.

To find the best hotels in Dallas for a given trip, treat the two systems as different judges. Forbes sends anonymous inspectors and weighs service heavily. MICHELIN’s Keys reward the whole stay, including character. Room counts and addresses come from the hotel’s own site or its Forbes page, and where a page gives none, we leave the number out. We take no paid placement.

Keys vs Stars in Dallas

The MICHELIN Guide’s 2026 US selection lists Dallas with four hotels at One Key and none at Two: Casa Duro, Hotel Swexan, Hotel ZaZa Dallas and Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Irving adds The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas at One Key. Fort Worth has Bowie House at Two Keys and Hotel Drover at One.

Forbes Travel Guide’s Dallas page, with its 2026 Star Awards banner, shows one Five-Star hotel, The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. Two hotels are rated Recommended: The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, Las Colinas and Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. Four more are listed as Soon to Be Rated, meaning Forbes editors have previewed them but inspections are not finished: The Adolphus, The Joule, JW Marriott Dallas Arts District and Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa. The page shows no Four-Star hotel, so the pattern is unusual: one clear leader on service, and a field of Key houses and unrated landmarks behind it. In practice, the 5 star hotels Dallas offers on Forbes’s scale come down to a single address.

The Best Luxury Hotels in Dallas

The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas

Forbes Five-Star for 2026, and the only hotel in Dallas to hold that rating. It sits at 2121 McKinney Avenue, and the historic McKinney Avenue trolley stops outside, per Forbes Travel Guide. Rottet Studio redesigned the rooms, and many have soaking tubs with city views. The Club Level has its own concierge and lounge. Forbes lists a 12,000 square foot spa and Fearing’s, chef Dean Fearing’s Southwestern restaurant, plus chauffeured Bentleys for guests. It puts Love Field 22 to 30 minutes away and DFW 16 to 22 minutes.

Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek

One MICHELIN Key (2026 selection) and Forbes Recommended for 2026. The property was built in 1925 as the home of cotton and oil magnate Sheppard King, per Forbes Travel Guide, and sits at 2821 Turtle Creek Boulevard. It has 142 guest rooms, from 450 to 2,650 square feet, with Thomas Pheasant behind the room redesign. The Mansion Restaurant is a Forbes Four-Star restaurant. Forbes puts DFW 22 to 28 minutes away and Love Field just minutes.

Hotel Swexan

One MICHELIN Key (2026 selection). The hotel’s own site lists 134 rooms, eight of them suites, at 2575 McKinnon Street, with a rooftop infinity-edge pool and five food and drink venues: Léonie, Stillwell’s, Babou’s, Pomelo and Isabelle’s. Stillwell’s is a steakhouse the hotel describes as recommended by MICHELIN. The site shows no Forbes award and no nightly prices.

Hotel ZaZa Dallas

One MICHELIN Key (2026 selection). The hotel’s site places it in Uptown and lists Magnificent Seven Suites, bungalows, concept suites and guest rooms, with Dragonfly restaurant and a poolside venue. It shows the MICHELIN Key logo and no rates. It is the design-led choice on this list, with themed suites over a standard tower room.

Hotel Crescent Court

The hotel’s own site calls it an Uptown Dallas hotel and gives 186 guest rooms and 40 suites at 400 Crescent Court, a spa, and a $33 million renovation. It lists Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards ranking of the hotel as No. 2 in Texas. It is not on Forbes’s Dallas page or in MICHELIN’s 2026 Texas Keys, so it ranks below the recognized houses despite its address. It publishes no base rates.

The Adolphus

Soon to Be Rated by Forbes for 2026. It opened in 1912 at 1321 Commerce Street, built by beer magnate Adolphus Busch on the site of Dallas’s original City Hall, per Forbes Travel Guide. It has 428 rooms, down from about 1,200 before a 1980s renovation, a 5,000 square foot spa, and The French Room, a fine-dining room with a seasonal tasting menu. Forbes puts Love Field 12 to 20 minutes away.

The Joule

Soon to Be Rated by Forbes for 2026. It stands at 1530 Main Street, in a historic building whose marble floors, elevators and staircases were combined with designer Adam Tihany’s modern style, per Forbes. A newer tower also holds rooms. The two-floor Spa at The Joule, Sassetta (opened in 2022) and a subterranean cocktail lounge, Midnight Rambler, make it the downtown option for guests who want nightlife in the lobby.

JW Marriott Dallas Arts District

Soon to Be Rated by Forbes for 2026. It has 267 rooms at 800 North Harwood Street, with floor-to-ceiling windows, an outdoor pool, JW Steakhouse and the 11th-floor Vincent’s bar, per Forbes Travel Guide. Forbes lists no spa. It is the pick for guests heading to the museums and concert halls nearby.

The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas, Las Colinas

One MICHELIN Key (2026 selection, listed under Irving) and Forbes Recommended for 2026. It is at 4150 North MacArthur Boulevard in Irving and debuted in early 2024, after The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company bought the property from Four Seasons and renovated it, per Forbes. The spa covers 14,000 square feet with thermal facilities, and the restaurants include Knife Italian from chef John Tesar. Forbes puts DFW 12 to 20 minutes away and Love Field 16 to 28.

Casa Duro

One MICHELIN Key (2026 selection). It is the smallest entry here: three units above a restaurant and café by the same owners at 2806 Greenville Avenue in Lower Greenville, per the MICHELIN Guide’s hotel page. MICHELIN calls it a three-room guest house, with mostly antique and vintage furnishings and a full kitchen in each unit. It lists no price.

Verdict: for the strongest case on the lists, choose The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. For history and a garden setting with a Key, Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. For a newer, design-forward Uptown base, Hotel Swexan.

What a Night Costs

The hotels in this guide do not publish fixed nightly rates. Hotel Swexan’s and Hotel Crescent Court’s sites list room types with no prices, and the MICHELIN page for Casa Duro shows no amount either, so there is no honest entry-level figure for the top houses. Check each hotel’s booking page for your dates, since conventions, State Fair weeks and big sporting events move rates most.

Where to Stay in Dallas: Areas

Uptown and Turtle Creek

Most of the recognized hotels cluster here. The Ritz-Carlton is on McKinney Avenue, Hotel Swexan on McKinnon Street, Hotel ZaZa in Uptown per its site, Hotel Crescent Court at 400 Crescent Court and Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek Boulevard. It is the right base for a first visit built around dinners, with the trolley running past the Ritz-Carlton’s door.

Downtown and the Arts District

For luxury hotels in Dallas downtown, the choices are The Adolphus (1912), The Joule and JW Marriott Dallas Arts District, all with Forbes pages listing Love Field 10 to 24 minutes away at most. These are large, historic or contemporary city hotels, convenient for the museums and concert venues around Harwood Street.

Las Colinas and Lower Greenville

The Ritz-Carlton in Las Colinas, a One Key hotel, suits guests flying into DFW or Love Field who want a spa-led stay outside the city grid. Casa Duro, on Greenville Avenue, is the opposite: three apartments with a kitchen each, above one of the city’s restaurants.

Best for Past and Place

Two buildings carry history. Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek was a private home built in 1925, and The Adolphus opened in 1912 on the site of the city’s first City Hall, both per Forbes Travel Guide. Between them, one is a residential-scale estate with 142 rooms, the other a 428-room grand hotel with a spa and a French fine-dining room.

Best for Small and Private

Casa Duro has three units, per MICHELIN, and Hotel Swexan has 134 rooms, per its own site. If you want a hotel to fade into the background, Casa Duro’s kitchens and flats suit a longer stay. If you want service with a full kitchen team, choose Hotel Swexan’s five venues or the Ritz-Carlton’s Fearing’s.

Fort Worth: Bowie House

Bowie House, Auberge Resorts Collection, holds Two MICHELIN Keys in the 2026 US selection, the highest rating of any hotel in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The Guide’s November 2024 Texas article called it potentially the most stylish building in the entire city. It is in Fort Worth, not Dallas, so allow a drive across the metroplex. Hotel Drover, also in Fort Worth, holds One Key.

Arriving by Private Jet: Love Field, Addison and DFW

Dallas has three airports that matter for a private flight. Dallas Love Field (DAL) is 5 miles northwest of the city, per FAA data via AirNav, with two parallel runways of 8,800 and 7,752 feet. AirNav lists Atlantic Aviation, Business Jet, Jet Aviation and Signature Aviation terminals as FBOs there. It is the closest to downtown and Uptown: Forbes puts it 12 to 20 minutes from The Adolphus.

Addison Airport (ADS) is 9 miles north of Dallas, per AirNav, with one 7,203 by 100 foot runway, a control tower open 0600 to 2200, and three FBOs: Atlantic Aviation, Million Air Dallas and Galaxy FBO. Our Addison Airport guide covers its rules. Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) lists a single FBO, DFW Corporate Aviation, and customs landing rights, per AirNav. Its longest runway is 13,401 feet, and it is the choice for Las Colinas.

From Dallas, our route pages cover the Dallas to New York and Dallas to Aspen private jet flights.
