The best luxury hotel in Dubai by outside recognition is Atlantis The Royal on Palm Jumeirah: Three MICHELIN Keys, the only hotel in the UAE at that level, per Gulf News in September 2026, and Forbes Five-Star for 2026 with 795 rooms, suites and penthouses, per Atlantis in February 2026. Three hotels hold Two Keys: One&Only The Palm, Bvlgari Resort Dubai and The Lana. The Burj Al Arab, the most famous of all, lists 202 rooms and starts from $1,900 a night, per MICHELIN’s July 2025 guide.
This guide ranks the luxury hotels in Dubai by what independent judges recorded, then places them by area, so you can choose between a Palm resort, a beach hotel, a tower in Downtown or a tent in the desert.
How We Picked
We combined three things: the MICHELIN Guide Keys for the UAE (the 2026 selection, as reported by Gulf News in September 2026, plus MICHELIN’s own hotel pages), the Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards 2026, and a spread across Dubai’s areas. The two systems rarely agree. MICHELIN’s March 2025 Dubai list named 13 Key hotels, and Gulf News counted 14 for 2026.
Room counts come from MICHELIN hotel pages or the hotel’s own press material. Rates move nightly, so a figure appears only where a named source dates it. Forbes ratings appear only where Forbes or the hotel published them. We take no paid placement.
Keys vs Stars: Two Different Judges
MICHELIN labels Three Keys “an extraordinary stay,” Two Keys “an exceptional stay” and One Key “a very special stay.” Forbes Travel Guide rates service through inspections and publishes its Star Awards each February. Forbes announced the 2026 awards on February 11, 2026, per Atlantis.
In practice, Keys reward design, setting and character, which is why a sculptural resort and a low-rise island hideaway lead. Stars reward consistency of service at scale, which is why large city hotels sit comfortably at Five-Star. Use Keys for atmosphere and Stars for polish.
The Best Luxury Hotels in Dubai
Atlantis The Royal
Three Keys in both the 2025 and 2026 selections, per Gulf News, and the winner of MICHELIN’s inaugural Architecture and Design Award. Forbes Travel Guide rates the hotel Five-Star for 2026, and Atlantis says it is the first and only “triple-five” property in the Middle East and Africa, with Five-Star hotel, spa and restaurant (Dinner by Heston Blumenthal), per Zawya in February 2026. It has 795 rooms, suites and signature penthouses, 44 of them with private infinity pools, per the same release. The Cloud 22 Skypool sits on the 22nd floor with views of the Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa, per MICHELIN’s November 2025 article.
Bvlgari Resort Dubai
Two Keys, per Gulf News. It has 101 rooms on Jumeirah Bay Island, a man-made island, per MICHELIN. The dining is Il Ristorante Niko Romito (two MICHELIN stars) and Hōseki (one star), with a spa, beach club and the brand’s first yacht club, per MICHELIN and One Mile at a Time (June 2023). OMAAT reported rates from about 2,500 AED (around $680) off-peak to about 5,500 AED (around $1,500) at peak periods such as winter, at a stay in April 2023.
Jumeirah Burj Al Arab
Two Keys on its MICHELIN hotel page, which lists 202 rooms on Jumeira Road in Umm Suqeim, about 15 km from central Dubai, and a one-star restaurant, Al Muntaha. The Gulf News 2026 table does not show the hotel, so check the live guide for its current Key status. MICHELIN’s July 2025 guide lists it from $1,900 a night, with the presidential duplex suite from $32,700. The hotel’s own page says French architect Tristan Auer led a restoration that keeps most of the original gold leaf, Statuario marble and Swarovski crystal.
One&Only The Palm
Two Keys, per Gulf News. MICHELIN notes its Guerlain Spa draws on arabesque design that honors local culture. It is on Palm Jumeirah.
The Lana, Dorchester Collection
Two Keys in 2026, per Gulf News; One Key in MICHELIN’s March 2025 list. It stands in Business Bay overlooking the marina and the Downtown towers, per MICHELIN.
Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre
Forbes Five-Star for 2026, a ninth straight year, per Four Seasons on February 17, 2026. It sits in DIFC, the finance district, which suits business stays.
Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach
Forbes Five-Star for 2026, also a ninth straight year, per Four Seasons on February 17, 2026, and One Key in the 2026 MICHELIN selection, per Gulf News. It is the beachfront option on the Four Seasons list.
Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai
One Key, per Gulf News. MICHELIN’s 2023 Dubai guide describes a private beach and pool in the Jumeirah district, with Tasca by José Avillez (one MICHELIN star) on site.
Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai
One Key in the 2026 selection, per Gulf News. It is the central Downtown choice for the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall side of the city.
Al Maha, A Luxury Collection Desert Resort and Spa
One Key, per Gulf News. MICHELIN’s 2023 guide describes tented Bedouin-style suites with private pools in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, plus desert driving and horseback riding. It is the pick if you want sand and silence instead of skyline.
The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm
One Key, per Gulf News. It adds a second Key option on the Palm if Atlantis The Royal is full.

What a Night Costs
Published rates are few and dated, so treat these as a guide and price your own dates.
- Jumeirah Burj Al Arab: from $1,900 a night; presidential duplex suite from $32,700 (MICHELIN, July 2025).
- One&Only One Za’abeel: from $800 a night; penthouse from $20,000 (MICHELIN, July 2025).
- Bvlgari Resort Dubai: about 2,500 AED (around $680) off-peak to about 5,500 AED (around $1,500) at peak (One Mile at a Time, June 2023).
- Atlantis The Royal, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental: rates not published; price your dates with the hotel.
MICHELIN says its July 2025 figures are approximate and based on mid-week rates in peak season. For suite-level pricing across the world, see our guide to the most expensive hotels in the world.
Where to Stay in Dubai: Areas
- Palm Jumeirah: Atlantis The Royal, One&Only The Palm and The St. Regis Dubai, The Palm. Best for resort stays and beaches.
- Jumeirah Beach and Umm Suqeim: Jumeirah Burj Al Arab, Four Seasons Resort and Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, with Bvlgari on its island nearby. MICHELIN’s 2023 guide put Bvlgari about 15 minutes from the city centre.
- Downtown and Business Bay: Mandarin Oriental Downtown and The Lana, near the Burj Khalifa and the marina towers.
- DIFC: Four Seasons Hotel DIFC, for meetings and the financial district.
- Desert: Al Maha in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, for tented suites and wildlife.
Best for Beach, City and Desert
Best for a Beach Stay
Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach pairs Five-Star service with One Key. Bvlgari adds a private beach club and a yacht club, per One Mile at a Time.
Best for a City Stay
Four Seasons DIFC and Mandarin Oriental Downtown keep you near the business and shopping districts. The Lana’s Business Bay setting looks over the marina and the Downtown towers, per MICHELIN.
Best for Something Different
Al Maha has tented suites with private pools in the desert reserve, per MICHELIN’s 2023 guide, which is the sharpest contrast to the city.
Arriving by Private Jet: Al Maktoum and DXB
Dubai World Central, also called Al Maktoum International (DWC), is the main business aviation airport. Ace Jet lists three FBOs there: Jetex Dubai, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim and ExecuJet Dubai Al Maktoum. Jetex describes a terminal of about 1,500 square meters open 24/7 with on-site customs and immigration, per Ace Jet. Ace Jet puts the drive at about 20 to 25 minutes to Dubai Marina and 40 to 50 minutes to Downtown Dubai.
AIN reported in December 2016 that business aircraft were moving out of Dubai International (DXB), where landing and takeoff slots had become hard to get, and that a VIP terminal at DWC housed the Jetex and Falcon Aviation FBOs. That report is a decade old, so ask your handler which airport your slot is at. If you land at DXB, MICHELIN’s Burj Al Arab page puts the hotel about a 25-minute drive from DXB, and lists a helicopter transfer at about $2,723 one way.
