A 2027 world cruise costs from $19,779 per person on the cheapest published sailing to $125,599 per person for the longest balcony fare, and that is before the top suites. Per night, the range runs from about $175 on a mainstream ship to about $774 on a luxury line. The ultra-luxury ceiling is far higher: Regent announced a Regent Suite at $839,999 per guest for its 140-night voyage.

Those numbers describe an entry cabin. A world cruise cost is set by cabin tier and by what the fare leaves out: flights, visas, insurance and onboard spending. Below we put every line on one table, work out the price per night, and list the extras that sit on top. Fares move daily, so each figure carries its source and month.

World Cruise Cost by Line, 2027

Pavlus Travel, a travel agency, lists twelve 2027 world cruises with the line’s published “from” fare per person, double occupancy, for the cabin type shown. The agency page does not say whether taxes and port fees are inside the fare, and it shows no update date, so treat the table as a November 2026 snapshot. We worked out the per-night column ourselves by dividing the fare by the nights listed.

Three things the table hides. First, the lines do not count the same way: Holland America’s own sailing appears as 129 days on some agency pages and 130 on this one, so per-night figures are close, not exact. Second, “from” fares are the cheapest cabin the line will sell, and they can sell out. Third, agencies disagree with each other. Holland America’s Volendam sailing is $32,899 for an ocean-view stateroom on World Cruise Advisors, another agency, against $31,009 here, and Cruise Specialists shows a starting fare of $28,009 without naming the cabin. Quote the same cabin from the line itself before you decide.

Silversea’s entry in the table is a door-to-door fare that includes private transfers and business class air from home, per the Pavlus listing. That is why it looks pricier per night than it is once flights are added to the other lines.

World Cruise Cost per Person and per Night

Inside vs Veranda vs Suite

The cabin tier is the biggest lever. On Holland America’s Volendam, World Cruise Advisors lists starting fares of $32,899 for an ocean-view stateroom, $55,499 for a Vista Suite and $99,099 for a Neptune Suite, all per person, double occupancy. The same 129-day voyage costs three times as much in the top suite as in the entry cabin.

At the top of the market the multiple is far larger. Regent announced in March 2024 that its 140-night World of Splendor voyage on Seven Seas Splendor would start at $91,499 per guest in a Veranda Suite and reach $839,999 per guest in the Regent Suite, according to Luxury Travel Magazine. A Miami to Rome version of 126 nights ran from $84,999 to $755,999. Silversea’s announcement, reported by Cruise Passenger in May 2024, put the entry Vista suite at $134,400 per person including business class fares, and the two-bedroom Owner’s Suite at $568,400; the Australian outlet did not name the currency, so read those two as a ratio between tiers, not a dollar quote. All of these are launch prices, and the Regent suite fare for 2027 on the Pavlus table ($98,299) is higher than the $91,499 announced for the cheapest suite, so expect launch figures to have moved.

Solo Supplements

Every fare in the table is per person on a double-occupancy basis, so a solo traveler should ask the line for the single fare in writing before comparing. Holland America’s early booking offer gives a single traveler $800 of onboard credit against $500 per guest for two, per World Cruise Advisors.

What Is Included, and What Is Not

Flights

Flights are the first place lines differ. NCLH lists first-class airfare for the voyage among the Regent World Cruise inclusions (April 2024). Silversea’s Silver Dawn fare on the Pavlus page is door to door, with private transfers and business class air from home. Holland America’s early booking offer carries a $500 air credit per person, which will not cover a long-haul ticket. If you are pricing a trip, add a flight home from the final port, which is often in another country. For a sense of what a premium seat costs, see best business class airlines.

Gratuities

Holland America’s early booking benefits include prepaid crew appreciation, per World Cruise Advisors. For the other lines, ask for the current daily rate for your sailing and multiply it by the nights.

Visas and Shore Days

A world cruise crosses 28 countries on Holland America’s Volendam sailing alone, per World Cruise Advisors, and several of them require advance visas or electronic travel authorizations. Cruise lines usually arrange group visas for some ports and leave others to you. Ask your line for its visa list before you book.

Two examples from government and press sources. India’s e-Tourist visa for US citizens is $25 for 30 days from July to March, $10 for 30 days from April to June, and $40 for one year, per the Embassy of India in Washington. The Indian e-Visa portal allows entry by cruise ship at designated seaports, per the Government of India’s e-Visa site. Vietnam’s e-visa is valid for up to 90 days, single or multiple entry, per Vietnam’s Immigration Department, and costs $25 for single entry and $50 for multiple entry, per VnEconomy in February 2025. Fees change, so confirm them on the official portal before paying, and note that a 3% bank charge applies to Indian e-Visa payments.

Sailing Part of a World Cruise

You do not have to commit to 100 nights or more. Lines sell shorter versions of the same voyages, and Regent’s own 126-night Miami to Rome version of the World of Splendor is one example, priced from $84,999 per guest against $91,499 for the full 140 nights (Luxury Travel Magazine, March 2024). That is about $675 a night against $654.

Ask the line for a segment fare and compare its price per night with the full-voyage figure in the table above before assuming the shorter trip is better value.

World Cruises From Florida

Two 2027 sailings in the Pavlus table start in Florida. Holland America’s Volendam departs Fort Lauderdale on January 5 and returns to Fort Lauderdale, a round trip, per World Cruise Advisors, and Princess’s Coral Princess leaves Fort Lauderdale on January 6 for Los Angeles. Regent’s Seven Seas Splendor starts in Miami on January 11 and ends in New York on the 140-night voyage or in Rome on the 126-night one, per Luxury Travel Magazine, and Oceania’s Vista departs Miami on January 6. Fort Lauderdale and Miami are both easy to reach by air, and if you prefer to arrive privately, see private jet charter.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a world cruise cost per person?
Published 2027 from-fares in the Pavlus Travel listing run from $19,779 to $125,599 per person for the entry cabin, or roughly $175 to $774 per night. Top suites cost far more, up to $839,999 per guest on Regent's 140-night voyage, per Luxury Travel Magazine.
How much is a 30 day cruise?
A 30-day cruise has no single price, because it depends on the line and cabin. On the world cruise sailings we compared, mainstream lines run about $175 to $240 a night and luxury lines about $490 to $775 a night, so 30 nights would be roughly $5,300 to $23,200 before extras.
What is the never-ending cruise?
It is a term for a ship that stays at sea in a loop and sells long stays rather than short trips. It is a different product from the dated world cruises priced above, which depart once a year and return.
What is the world's longest cruise ship?
Royal Caribbean says Icon of the Seas, which debuted in January 2024, is the world's biggest cruise ship, on its ship page, although the page gives no length. It sails seven-night Caribbean cruises, not world cruises. For comfort-focused ships, see our guide to the most luxurious cruise ships.
Are meals and drinks included on a world cruise?
It depends on the line. NCLH lists specialty restaurants, premium beverages and Wi-Fi in the Regent World Cruise fare (April 2024), while mainstream lines usually sell drinks and specialty dining separately. Check the fare terms for your sailing.
