The best luxury hotels in Santorini, by outside recognition, are Grace Hotel, Santorini (Auberge Resorts Collection) and Andronis Luxury Suites. Grace holds Two MICHELIN Keys, the highest tier any Santorini hotel reached in the 2026 selection, per Greek City Times. Forbes Travel Guide gives Andronis Luxury Suites Five-Star status for 2026 and rates Grace and Katikies Santorini Four-Star.

Santorini hotels sell by date and suite, so nightly rates are not a fixed number worth quoting. This guide gives you the recognition, the location logic, room counts, the private-pool question and each hotel’s minimum age, and it points you to the hotel for rates on your dates.

How We Picked

We used the MICHELIN Guide Keys for Greece and the Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards 2026, then added what the MICHELIN and Forbes pages say about each hotel’s pools, rooms and rules. MICHELIN’s full 2025 Greek selection, published October 8, 2025, lists 10 Santorini hotels at One Key plus Limestone Santorini in Fira. Greek City Times reported on September 22, 2026 that Greece has 74 Key hotels, nine of them at Two Keys, including Grace. We take no paid placement.

The honest catch comes first. Caldera hotels sit on steep terraced cliffs, which means steps between the lobby, your room and the pool. Forbes describes Andronis Luxury Suites as set on steep, terraced cliffs, and MICHELIN describes Grace as on a steep terraced hillside. The meltemi, a northerly wind, often blows from May onward and can make the sea rough, per ClimatesToTravel. If you travel with small children or have limited mobility, ask the hotel about step-free access before you pay a deposit.

Where to Stay: Oia, Imerovigli or Fira

Oia

The classic sunset village on the northern tip. Katikies Santorini, Canaves Oia Suites, Perivolas, Andronis Luxury Suites and Andronis Arcadia are all listed in Oia by MICHELIN or Forbes. Andronis Arcadia sits on the back side of town, a few hundred meters off the main tourist path, per MICHELIN.

Imerovigli

Quieter than Oia, and set on the caldera rim. Grace Hotel, Kivotos Santorini and Cavo Tagoo are all in Imerovigli, per MICHELIN. MICHELIN says Kivotos has sunset views year-round.

Fira

Limestone Santorini is in lower Fira, which MICHELIN calls known for its quieter atmosphere and magnificent viewpoints, with Fira’s restaurants and cafes a short walk away. Katikies Garden is in Fira’s old Venetian neighborhood.

Recognition below is the MICHELIN Guide Greece selection (October 2025 list, with the 2026 change for Grace from Greek City Times) and Forbes Travel Guide 2026.

Grace Hotel, Santorini, Auberge Resorts Collection

Two MICHELIN Keys, per MICHELIN and Greek City Times, and Forbes Four-Star for 2026. It has 23 rooms in Imerovigli, and most have plunge pools, plus a three-bedroom villa and an infinity pool, per MICHELIN. It does not allow children under 14. MICHELIN lists it as seasonal, open April through October.

Andronis Luxury Suites

Forbes Five-Star for 2026, the only Santorini hotel at that level. Forbes lists 39 suites and villas in Oia, each with a private infinity pool or jacuzzi, about 22 to 24 minutes from JTR airport. The MICHELIN One-Key listing names Andronis Arcadia, which is a different property from Andronis Luxury Suites, so check which you are booking.

Katikies Santorini

One MICHELIN Key, per Greek City Times, and Forbes Four-Star for 2026. Forbes describes a boutique hotel built down a cliff near Oia’s main promenade, with three infinity pools, open roughly April to November, for guests aged 13 and up.

Canaves Oia Suites

In Oia, with 46 suites built into the volcanic cliffs, per MICHELIN. Each suite has a private pool, from plunge pools to infinity-edge pools in top suites. Guests must be at least 13. It is not in MICHELIN’s October 2025 Key list and has no Forbes 2026 rating.

Perivolas Lifestyle Houses

One MICHELIN Key. It has 21 converted cave houses in Oia around an infinity pool, and the Perivolas Suite has a private pool and a hot tub, per MICHELIN. Children under 16 are not accepted.

Kivotos Santorini

One MICHELIN Key. It has 10 rooms in Imerovigli with a shared caldera-view infinity pool, and junior suites have an outdoor Jacuzzi, per MICHELIN. MICHELIN’s page is inconsistent on age, saying children older than 13 are welcome and also listing adults only, so confirm with the hotel.

Katikies Garden Santorini

One MICHELIN Key. It has 40 rooms in a restored 18th-century monastery in Fira, with a rooftop pool, and many suites have a private plunge pool or Jacuzzi, per MICHELIN. Guests must be 13 or older. MICHELIN notes that the hotel’s restaurant, Selene, holds a MICHELIN star.

Limestone Santorini

One MICHELIN Key. It has five suites in a restored 1925 cave house in lower Fira, each with a terrace hot tub, and no pool or restaurant, per MICHELIN. Adults only (guests 16 and over), open April through November.

Andronis Arcadia

One MICHELIN Key, and listed as Recommended by Forbes for 2026. It has 114 rooms in Oia, and each suite and villa has a private infinity pool, per MICHELIN. Children of any age are allowed, which makes it the family option in this list.

Cavo Tagoo Santorini

In Imerovigli, with 14 suites, all with a Jacuzzi and a private balcony or terrace, and plunge pools in higher tiers, per MICHELIN. It welcomes guests 18 and older.

Couples should filter for a private pool and a caldera-facing terrace. Andronis Luxury Suites puts a private infinity pool or jacuzzi in every accommodation, per Forbes, and Canaves Oia Suites gives every suite a private pool, per MICHELIN. For quiet, Limestone Santorini has five adults-only suites with terrace hot tubs, and Perivolas takes no children under 16.

Best for Families

Age rules decide the family question. Andronis Arcadia allows children of any age and lets children up to 2 stay free using a cot and up to 5 stay free in an existing bed, per MICHELIN. Katikies Santorini, Katikies Garden and Canaves Oia Suites accept guests from 13, Grace from 14, Perivolas from 16, Limestone from 16 and Cavo Tagoo from 18. Always ask the hotel whether the route to your room avoids steps.

Getting There

The Airport

Santorini (JTR) is about 20 minutes from Katikies Santorini in Oia and 22 to 24 minutes from Andronis Luxury Suites, per Forbes. LunaJets says the airport operates under slot restrictions in the busy summer season and takes light to midsize jets, and certain super-midsize and long-range aircraft under favorable conditions. Signature Santorini, the airport’s FBO, says its team manages the mandatory slots and prior permission for flights to the island.

Private Jet
